Not sure what to call this post
Well this weekend was not all that exciting but I want to keep the blogger inside myself alive so I don't get lazy about it, so this one is for the die hard Cozy Keaton fans. I'm sure you're out there.
Ben went to work on Saturday, boring, but OT pay is a good thing. I spent the day baking, cleaning, organizing and laundering (clothes), which is actually a great day in my book. We went out for a ski Saturday evening and had several close encounters with the snowmobiles. I am not sure if they really couldn't see us or if they just like to scare skiers. We were on the lake so there was plenty of room for everyone to have fun.

It was time for a hot meal when we came in. I include these pictures mainly because the smoke alarm went off three times while Ben was talking to his mom and I was making dinner. I just want Kim to see that the biscuits are golden brown and so far I haven't burnt any soup. This is sweet potato bisque from Trader Joes, it is excellent and has only six ingredients, all of which were natural. Now I know why my mom never leaves Massachusetts without a trip to Trader Joes.

Sunday we finally ventured to the downhill ski slopes. Wild cat has a deal on Sunday afternoons, so we hit it up. We had some great runs and no injuries, unfortunately Ben's headache turned in to a full blown migraine and he is now in bed trying to sleep it off.

The migraine has set in at this point and it was time for us to head home, but the hair was just to good to forgo the picture. Did everyone know that I am now Ben's hairdresser, this was actually his idea. Looks like is it is time for a trim.

This picture is the reason every home needs an office of some sort, and yes I just cleaned the table off yesterday. It's a mess but we were both proud of ourselves for getting tax stuff organized. Danielle, did you notice the water bottle? It goes to school with me everyday. Thanks!

A visit from Timmy-D, Donna-D, Liv-e and Stormy
The family arrives and we bring Olivia straight to the guest quarters. Yep the quinzhee is still standing. You may notice that the ceiling has sunk a bit but Ben assures us that it is still safe.

Mom peeks in, she is a bit unsure about the low ceiling and thinks we should have an ava-lung and other life saving devices.

Saturday morning. . . we ski!

Olivia is ready to socialize with the family. She loves long hikes in the woods, talking about the future and just being with her family. Well that may not be the complete truth, but we love her.
Whose idea was this anyway?
Ben has a successful run in our private back country ski park. How will Donna do?

You have to give her credit just for the attempt.
A few pics of the dog, he's a good one.

Stone Mountain
This is a must do for everyone around, check it out

We had a wonderful evening in a beautiful place with great company and excellent music. We are headed back in a few weeks for Greg Brown, one of our favorites.

Dad enjoys the pizza. . . You have to be ready to order quickly, they ran out of the pizza mom and I wanted. So we ordered salad and ate everyone's leftovers.
Yep that is the stage, directly behind us. We could rest our feet on the edge while listening to the music.
Timbers, for all of you out there who share Ben's obsession with wood.

Off to TIGERAPA to clear the roof
It was a wonderful weekend with Mom, Dad, Liv and Stormy. Our time together was completed with a trip to camp to clear the snow off the roof.
We empty the bladders, strap on the snowshoes, click in the skis and head in.

I learned that you have to start removing the snow from the top of the roof, apparently it is the snow that keeps you on the roof and off the ground . . . Ben taught me something about living in New England.
Yep that's as close to getting on the roof as mom made it.
Olivia was working hard on her snow angel designs while Ben looks for his shovel, all the while I am working away removing the snow from the top first.

Dad must have spotted Ben's shovel and sent him looking for it. It looks like Ben forgot the rules and sailed right off the roof.

Ben survived the long fall to the ground so we decided to pack it in and head back to cars.

Whose idea was it to move to NH anyway??
Well the snow keeps falling and I think that Ben is actually enjoying all this snow removal. I had the day off from school yesterday so I had to stay after the shoveling or I would have felt incredibly guilty about sitting around all day and letting Ben take care of it after work. I went out for three rounds of shoveling and then Ben came in with Noel's snow blower and took care of the leftovers.

There is not a much more beautiful sight than that of the fresh fallen snow

A visit with the Gordons
A weekend in Bean-town

The Men Chillaxin' at Home Watchin' Planet Earth on the Big Screen while the Ole' Ladies Are Out Shopin'
Crystal made a delicious dinner and then we were off to the game.

You don't need to look too closely at the score and yep, it got worse.

Finally I am starting to make some new friends here in New England. Does it really matter that they are in high school?

Time to forget about the score of the game and ski!!

While reading the cross-country skiing manuals in order to stop embarrassing myself in front of Rachael, they never talked about or illustrated how to cross a tree bridge. Much to the disappointment of the onlookers, I made it.

If you can't fix it, duck it. If you can't duck it . . .

This is not the most exciting moment we had on skis, unfortunately we didn't capture any of the numerous diggers over the weekend.
