A birthday trip to Burlington

We spent last weekend in Burlington and fell in love with the area. The city has so much to offer, great restaurants, live music and lots of opportunities to play outside. This is the view from our hotel room. We had a view of lake Champlain and the mountains in the background.

On Saturday we went for a 30 mile bike ride around South Hero island. It was one of our favorite bike rides ever.

Check out these bird houses. There were so many, all different colors and I think they were all handmade.

Kim and Danielle Come to NH for Ben's 30th

We began the weekend by downhill skiing. It was Danielle's first time and she was great!

The next event of the weekend was ice bocce which was the default sport because the ice was too soft for hockey. We made the most of the 45 degree, February day.
Then it was time for Ben's party! It was a great night.

Then and exciting game of Geustures, which the girls won. Go ladies!

We ended the weekend with a skate on Silver Lake. Kim showed us her serious skills on the ice. I am still working on my spins, one day i'll get there.

Happy Valentine's Day

The cuisine of Valentine's Day.

The activity of Valentine's Day was skate-sailing which entails skating, holding a sail and hoping for the best. The wind was up and we were cooking across the ice. We are trying to make the most of this snow-free stretch of winter.

Winter to fun in the sun and back to winter

The new year began with John Franck and Terri's wedding which took place in a blizzard so we dressed appropriately.

We had a great trip to Florida. Family fun, perfect weather and excellent food made for an excellent long weekend. The Zane man is a lot of fun to be around. He is wicked smart and keeps you smiling.
Pete and Paul put on a great show. We danced on the deck and Varrell played the washboard.
We also did a little ring shopping and celebrating of the engagement.
Yesterday we got out and enjoyed the single digit day (it may have hit double digits by noon). The sun was shinning and we were actually sweating a few minutes in to the hike.

A Merry Christmas and a Marry Me!!

First I will include a few pictures of Christmas in Dixmont. On Christmas Eve we went to the Dubois for an incredible dinner prepared by Addy and then it was time for the annual yankee swap.

Dad received the first 2 gifts of the yankee swap (we got a little confused with the rules and he ended up opening the first 2 gifts) the funny part was they were both i pod speakers.
I think that everyone ended up with a gift that they wanted. Check out the sweet hat that Ben went home with.
Seafood pasta was the 2nd course. Every part of the dinner was excellent.
Christmas morning. . . . many surprises! Kadin was surprised with a new bed and a bag.
Dad was surprised to find snow on the ground when he took the lawn mower out for a spin.
And I was very surprised when Ben got down on one knee and popped the big question!
