Triathlon Completed!

Caitlyn, Crystal and I have all completed our first sprint (short) triathlon and it was great! The race included a 1/2 mile swim, 12 mile bike ride, a 3 mile run and 3,000 women. We went down on Saturday and picked up our race numbers, swim caps and all the free samples we could throw in our bags.

A little after 5 am and we were at the race site parking area getting ready to ride with all our gear in to the race venue. The hotel we stayed at opened their breakfast at 4:30 am for all the racers.
This is my transition towel where I set out all my gear in order to move from one part of the race to the next as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, I forgot to attach my race number before the run.
Here I am, ready to swim!! Great look, isn't it.

A weekend with the Gordons

We spent last weekend with the Gordons and it was a beautiful summer weekend in NH. We started the weekend with a late afternoon swim in Silver lake, cold beers and grilled chicken. It was a fun weekend, but Crystal and I also did some serious training for the tri next Sunday, it's never too late to get serious, right?
Saturday was named "smokefest" because we smoked ribs, salmon and potatoes for dinner.

Yes those are boxers you see on Ben. He got hot while playing Frisbee and rather than taking a break from playing, Ben simply took off his pants and kept playing.Kadin, Hogan and Jared wore themselves out.

The last two pictures are just too cute to leave out.

Kadin's first big hike

Last weekend Ben, Kadin and I headed north, deeper in to the mountains. We did a great hike that lead to a waterfall. The loop was about 4.5 miles and I am pretty sure that Kadin did almost twice that as she was running ahead and then back the entire hike. She did a great job at sticking close, but she had one of us worried through the whole hike (he is a bit of a worrier).

Happy 4th of July! It finally feels like summer.

The rain finally broke and we were able to enjoy a beautiful weekend at camp. Kadin spent some time getting to know the 12 puppies and she spent more time playing with Ember, who is more her size.

Kadin experiences camping. We put up the crate for the weekend and let her snuggle in the tent with us.

Danielle, I thought you would appreciate the lights that my dad added to the outhouse. The only problem is . . . now you can SEE the spiders.
Ben maned the smoker on Saturday and we all ate well. Chicken and ribs and many good salads. Even uncle Blaine made a good salad.

Always time for a game of "monkey balls."
Look closely. . . how many puppies do you see.

Check out all of the campfire outfits. I know we're such stylin' campers!

Kadin came home and crashed hard. She plays hard and sleeps hard too.
