So as I said earlier: one tree leads to another and an excavator. . .

For many reasons we are already very excited to call Maggie's Way home. It is going to be a long summer with many exhausting days but in the end we are confident that turning the corner onto this road each evening will make it all worth it.

All free time is now happily spent in Waterbury, VT.

The weekend looks a bit like this. . . .

Our first night out in Waterbury to celebrate the town that already feels like home was spent at: http://www.waterburyreservoir.com/

The remainder of the weekend was spent celebrating baby Spracklin with Dana in Virginia. It was really nice to see that cute belly in person and celebrate such an exciting time in the life of one of my oldest and dearest friends. I am getting very excited to meet that little guy.

Two of the cutest baby bumps out there.

One Tree Leads to Another

We began the day by marking the "keeper" trees. Then Ben got the chainsaw out because he wanted to cut the first tree down. . . a couple of hours later he had cut the first 20 trees and after today he has cut the first 50 trees down and plans to rent an excavator to continue the clearing. As I said, one tree leads to another and an excavator.

While Ben chopped trees down, I played with rocks. All of the large boulders were covered with rocks and I have made it my mission to uncover the boulders. I am excited to use the rocks in some future projects. All of those rocks were on that boulder and yes my arms are a bit sore tonight.
While uncovering the rocks, I happened upon a nest of moles. I tried to put the nest back together but I don't think mom is coming back. Our neighbor, Mac, who is 3 years old was very excited to meet and touch the baby moles.

I would say that the work has officially begun at 1063 Maggies Way. . . it's still pretty surreal.

To Dixmont we went this Easter and we made it in less than 5 hours. Maple was a happy traveler and we had the Hunger Games on the ipod so it was a pretty fun trip. We took today off so we haven't made the return trip yet but I am looking forward to the second half of the Hunger Games and we have a very tired puppy so all should be well.  Our Easter was a weekend full of love, laughter, cake, candy,  hikes in woods, snow, hail and sunshine.
